Iris Bodemer is a German artist who combines all kinds of materials, like dried lemon, pine cones, and even horse hair with gold or diamonds to create bold, imaginative jewelry. The different sizes, shapes and textures of Bodemer's materials play off each other, creating small sculptures that just draw you in. The lovely necklace (above) is made out of smoky quartz, rattan and copper. The brooch below is made out of pine cone and copper. The unusual combination of dramatic elements makes these very cool pieces. The work of Iris Bodemer is on display with the work of Bettina Speckner now through November 28, 2009 at the Gallery TACTILe (this is not a typo) in Geneva, Switzerland. What do you think?
