The French artist, designer and poet, AOI KOTSUHIROI, makes rings from crystals, stones, silk thread and and Japanese urushi lacquer. All of Kotsuhiroi's rings are set on black backgrounds, making for a very dramatic effect. Creating drama, too, are the beautiful Vanadinite crystals that Kotsuhiroi uses in many of her rings, like the one below.
I like that Kotsuhiroi uses black laquered thread instead of silver or gold to surround and anchor her unusual jewels, which creates a stunning contrast. The ring below is made with Phantom crystals.
