Jim Cotter is an artist and jewelry maker who creates rings out of 'alternative' materials like stone, concrete, and stainless steel. Cotter, who has been making jewelry since 1970, is inspired by the natural surroundings of the Vail, Colorado area, where he has two galleries. The ring on the left, from the ROCK SERIES, is made from stone, natural diamonds and 22kt gold. The ring below, from the MASK series, is made from 14kt gold, bronze and diamonds (check out the eyes). I love the variety of styles - ranging from formal to very playful - and range of materials that he works with. See more of Cotter's rings, as well as necklaces, earrings and bracelets, at the J. Cotter Gallery.
