Rodarte

RodarteCalifornia sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy, known for their whimsical, ultra-feminine, painstakingly hand-crafted designs, have won a number of awards in the fashion industry since launching their Rodarte label in the fall of 2005. One of their evening dresses (left), made out of hand-dyed silk gauze, is being featured as part of the GOTHIC DARK GLAMOUR show at the New York Fashion Institute of Technology through February 21, 2009. Japanese horror movies were the inspiration for this dress. You can see more innovative, beautiful Mulleavy dresses at Rodarte.
