The Felt Hats of Ulrieke Benner
Feel the chill in the air? It's time to start thinking about keeping warm. Consider this lively, playful hat and scarf set made by Ulrieke Benner for your cold weather wardrobe. Benner is a fiber artist who creates vibrantly colored accessories and even jewelry from felted wool and silk. She specializes in the Japanese 'nuno' felting technique whereby loose fiber is melded into a sheer fabric (see the scarf). Check out Ulrieke Benner's Website to see more of her hand made creations. I love the bright colors and hat with the long mouse tail. How about you?
Hi Angela,
Thanks for your nice feedback! I really appreciate it.
Thanks for telling me about your work. There is no formula for being featured on the Wearable Art Blog. I look for unusual, well crafted, hand made work that is not a repeat of anything I've posted about already. Plus I look for strong photos. I will keep your work in mind for a future post.
