Leanimal (a.k.a. Leanne Marshall), a Portland (Oregon)-based designer, has been competing on Project Runway, a creative competition reality television series featuring talented new designers. It's not just that Leanimal uses recycled textiles and eco-friendly fabrics to add appeal to her work. Her garments are creatively structured, often layered with pleats and folded fabric. Yes, this dress really does look like paper - her pleats look almost unreal. Just last week, Leanne Marshall won the top award on Project Runway Season 5 - more validation of her talent. You and I spotted her first!
