Nancy Worden's Fear Factor show at the Traver Gallery in Tacoma,
Washington is about Worden's exploration of fears - change, intimacy, conflict and phobias. Wearing a representation of fears, Worden believes, can help people overcome them. Her unusual pieces, like Brigandine (left) are often made from precious metals like copper, brass, nickel and found objects. Bone is another material Worden often uses. If you look carefully, you can see bone in the Exosquellette necklace (right). Worden's jewelry reflects her belief that wearing jewelry is a personalized art form. What do you think?
